摘 要:本文目的是对‘M+-φ’成为语法范畴标记式的语法化过程的研究。作者在略述了情态的哲学和语义学的概念之后,提出了一个以‘M+-φ’为区分标记的英语动词的情态语法范畴。同时阐释了标记式的语义实质是有相、级之分的关于动作或状态实现的可能性。文章最后指出,确立英语动词情态语法范畴有助于深入、系统地研究基本情态动词,有助于英语动词语法范畴体系的确立,有助于对基本情态动词与非助动词情态表达式作出清晰的区分。The purpose of the present paper is to investigage the grammaticalization of M+_ into the marker of a grammatical category. Having given a brief presentation of philosophic and semantic concepts of modality, the author of the paper puts forth a new idea that there is a grammatical category of modality of the English verb with the distinctive marked form ‘M+_’ whose essential meaning is likelihood of the actualization of the action or state denoted by the verb, distinguishable in phase and grade. \;The establishment of such a grammatical category helps to make a further and systematical study of the primary modals, to establish a system of grammatical categories of the English verb and to draw a clear distinction between the primary model and the non_auxiliary modal expression.
