摘　　要：“苏珊娜与长老”是西方裸体画中被反复表现过的一个题材,本文通过分析其中几个基本元素:沐浴、裸女与偷窥,考察这些元素背后的男权文化意识。文章强调的是,观看传统中把妇女定位于被看者、置于男性凝视的主控操纵,强化了男性权力,剥夺了女性的主体性。而女性艺术家的另类表达,可以看作是对这个传统的抗争。反思视觉艺术的传统,挑战其权威,目的是使妇女的身体和性别在艺术中拥有一个新的位置,这不仅是一个艺术问题,而且是整个社会和文化需要解决的问题。Susanna and the Elder'is a constant theme of western nude paintings.This essay goes into the con-sciousness of male chauvinism behind several basic elements in such paintings,such as bathing,naked women,and peeping.According to the author,the fact that men are traditionally identified as the gazer and women as the gazed strengthens the role of men as the power wielder and deprives women of their role as the initiator;another way of portrayal by female artists,therefore,can be looked upon as an act of opposition against such a tradition.The examination of the tradition of the visual art and the challenge to its authority aims to enable women's body and sexual distinction to come by a new position in the arts.This is not only an issue in the artistic field but al-so an issue calling for resolution by society at large.
