摘　　要：Until today, the concept ofChinese painting is often ap-plied in discussions on nationaltraits of Chinese local arts. Butit also leads to a wrong way forcommunication as differentcritic authors use their ownnarrow meanings or biases. Us-ing comparative approach be-tween Chinese and westernarts, Mr. Lu Shigang trys to findidentifiable standards existing in traditional Chinese local arts,and to explain its mode and mechanism between Chinese cultureand traditional spirit so as to touch the core of national traits ofour Chinese arts.Until today, the concept ofChinese painting is often ap-plied in discussions on nationaltraits of Chinese local arts.
