摘　　要：The close combination of building and sculpture in China has a long history, which has ingeniously createdone and another fairyland on earth. Stone carving started since theancient time, and its superb skill enjoy great prestige at home and abroad. Brick carving is alsovery famous. The ancient carpenter is praised as the master in handling with the timbers.Porcelain carving is also a special skill. Regrettably, some elegant and grandeur buildings withremote histories and exquisite sculptures were destroyed seriously during the Cultural Revolution,and some of those buildings are demolished during the urban construction in recent years. It is ofgreat significance to advocate the combination of building with sculpture and promote the devel-opment of sculpture undertaking in today, when the Chinese culture has met a great setback inarchitecture.
