摘　　要：本文先以钱钟书对“化境”的简单诠释为基础,从“化”字出发,将“化”分为熔解、提炼、重铸三个层次,力图进一步阐释“化境”的内涵,将其具体化,系统化。然后以杨宪益、戴乃迭所译鲁迅散文《雪》作为典型范例,评析其翻译手法及翻译成就,着重分析其熔解原文,深入理解;提炼精华,领悟妙处;重铸译文,再现原作丰姿的过程,从而印证前文对于“化境”的阐释。本文旨在促进“化境”这一标准在翻译批评中的具体运用。A theoreticalexplorationof QianZhongshu's notionof'sublimation'(huajing),thispaperseeksto bring out the fullimplicationsof'sublimation'by examiningit in a systematicmannerand showinghow it can be achievedinthreesteps:dissolving,distillingandreshaping.TakingYangHsien-yiandGladysYang's Englishversion of Lu Xun's essay'Snow'as a typicalexampleof a translationthathasreachedthestateof'sublimation',theau-thoranalyzesthetechniquesusedby thetranslatorsandtheirachievementsin termsof thewaystheydissolve,distill andreshapetheoriginaltext.Theaimof thepaperis to promotetheapplicationof thisnotionof'sublimation'in translationcriticisms.
