摘　　要：江西白垩纪晚世地层中发育一套湖相细碎屑岩系 ,前人称之为周田组 ,一直沿用至今。作者认为前人对该岩石地层单位的定义不够准确或不够贴切。该组并不是“普遍含膏盐层” ,而是仅在该组中部发育“膏盐层” ,所以 ,有必要重新厘定 ;鉴于“膏盐层”的特殊性、且明显区别于组内其余部分岩性 ,因此 ,建议将该岩系新建为段级岩石地层单位———“会昌膏盐段”。这对当地乃至华南地区的陆相红盆的研究和地层划分对比、野外地质填图都具有重要意义 。A suite of fine-grained clastic rock series of lake facies developed in Late Cretaceous stratum in Jiangxi Province which named Zhoutian Formation and have been using for a long time. But the author thinks it isn't suitable that the definition of the lithostratigraphic unit in the Zhoutian Formation has been made。It isn't as definited by previous as have gypoum-salt interbeded stratum generally. The gypoum-salt beds only developed in the central part of the Zhoutian Formation. Therefore, it is necessary to redefinition. Because of it's speciality and different obviously from other lithological characters in the Zhoutian Formation, it is suggested that this rock series is established to Member grade of the lithostratigraphic unit of Huichang gypoum-salt Member. It has very important meaning to study continental red basins and stratigraphic division and correlation as well as geological mapping in Jiangxi Province and Huanan areas. And it has directly conducts to searching gypoum-salt deposit sources.
