摘  要:太平洋南莱恩群岛和北科克群岛海域广泛分布锰结核。锰结核丰度变化从0.17公斤/米~2到31.2公斤/米~2,其中大于20公斤/米~2、15—10公斤/米~2和10—5公斤/米~2的站位分别为3.4%、13.8%和24%。锰结核大小从1厘米以下到10厘米,但多数直径在2—6厘米之间。锰结核的丰度变化与中结核(2—6厘米)的含量呈正比。结核分布和水深有关,以5000~5400米深度最为富集。在南纬5~9°的南部区多数丰度超过10公斤/米~2。控制南莱恩群岛和北科克群岛海域锰结核丰度变化的主要因素是沉积速率、碳酸盐补偿深度和浊流。Manganese nodules arc most widespread in (he Southern Line Islands and Northern Cook Islands region, Pacific, where they were recorded at 79% of the sta -tiot Manganese nodule abundances range from 0.17 Kg/m2 to 3 1.2 Kg/m2. Abundances exceeding 20 Kg/m2, 15-10 Kg/m2, and 10-5 Kg/m2 were presented at 3.4%, 13.8% and 24% of these stations, respectively. Manganese nodule sizes vary from less than 1 Cm to 10 Cm in diameter, but most of the nodule sizes are dominantly between 2 Cm and 6 Cm. It appears that abundance is inversely proportional to size when the latter is less than 2 Cm in diameter, and directly proportional to size when the latter is between 2 Cm and 6 Cm. The highest abundances were centred at depths 5000-5400 m. The nodule abundances arc related to water depth. The abundances exceeding 10 Kg/m2wcre found mostly in the southern part of the region from 5°S to 9°S.The factors determining variations in the nodule abundance in the Southern Line and Northern Cook Islands region arc sedimentation rate, carbonate compensation depth and turbidite.
