摘　　要：On 22-23 July, 2000, the Museum of Chinese History, Editorial Department of Kaogu (Archaeology) and that of Lishi Yanjiu (Historical Studies) held jointly in Beijing the Symposium on the Origins of Chinese Civilization and the Form of Early States. Nearly 30 scholars warmly discussed related problems, including the basic elements of Chinese civilization at the formative stage, the course of origination of Chinese civilization and formation of early Chinese state, the characteristic features of early Chinese state, and the suitable form showing the stage of civilization origination and state formation at the future "Exhibition of Chinese History" .
