摘 要:采用一种免疫紫外光纤技术,制作高性能的紫外光纤。它是一种紫外光预先照射与热处理相结合的方法。首先,用紫外光照射紫外光纤的预制棒,使其在石英玻璃内产生色心和结构缺陷;然后,用光纤拉丝机拉丝炉的温度边拉制光纤边进行热处理,从而提高了传输性能,获得高性能的紫外光纤。测试结果表明:用该紫外光免疫技术制作的紫外光纤具有更好的传输特性,在350~450nm波长范围内,传输损耗降低0.4~0.8dB。When an optical fiber using silica glass is used for transmitting UV rays, the various color centers are produced, such colors cause structural defects in the silica glass, which decrease the transmittance of silica glass fiber. In order to improve resistance of silica glass fiber to UV irradiation, a UV immunity technique is presented in our fiber optics laboratory. The technique of fabricating a UV fiber using silica glass is based on two effects of previous UV irradiation and heat treatment, which is called UV immunity technique of manufacturing UV fiber. The UV irradiation is implemented in the peform of silica glass fiber, and the heat treatment is finished in drawing fiber process. Then high-performance UV fiber is obtained. Finally, UV fibers are tested, from these tested results, it is seen that UV fibers fabricated by the UV immunity technique show better transmission characteristics during transmitting UV light, and that the reduction of the transmission loss of 0.4-0.8 dB for per meter from 350 nm to 400 nm is obtained.
