摘 要:Studies of the material related to bronze ge and spears show that the ge was created bythe Xia people in the Central Plain. In the Shang period, it was spread southward, reaching Hubei at theErligang stage and Jiangxi and Sichuan at the stage of Yinxu Ⅱ. This diffusion was a reflection of thestrong influence of the advanced Central Plain bronze culture upon remote peripheral regions and thecentral position of the Yin-Shang culture. On the other hand, the distinct regional features of the Xingange indicate that, when absorbing elements of the Central Plain culture, the southern aboriginal cultureadded its own features to them, which resulted in the formation of a characteristic local style. The bronzespear was created mainly by the southern people at the Erligang stage of the Shang period. The examplesfrom the Shang tomb at Xingan belonged to locally-developed bronze weapons and inherited the traditional style of the southern spear. The characteristic Shang spear of the Central Plain was in its turn aproduct of adopting the southern prototype with their own cultural elements mixed in. The southwardand northward spread of bronze ge and spears respectively constitutes an important aspect which reflectsthe interaction, amalgamation and formation course of the united polygenetic Chinese bronze culture.ABSTRACT: Studies of the material related to bronze ge and spears show that the ge was created by the Xia people in the Central Plain. The bronze spear was created mainly by the southern people at the Erligang stage of the Shang period. The examples from the Shang tomb at Xingan belonged to locally-developed bronze weapons and inherited the tradi- tional style of the southern spear. The characteristic Shang spear of the Central Plain was in its turn a product of adopting the southern prototype with their own cultural elements mixed in. The southward and northward spread of bronze ge and spears respectively constitutes an important aspect which reflects the interaction, amalgamation and formation course of the united polygenetic Chinese bronze culture.
