摘　　要：我国西部 12省、区、市旅游资源十分丰富 ,其特色主要表现为壮丽的自然景观 ,浓郁的民族风情和珍贵的历史文物 .西部丰富的旅游资源开发潜力大 .是我国旅游资源战略后备基地 .西部各省、区、市应抓紧我国 2 1世纪旅游业新的发展机遇 ,在西部大开发的战略部署中 ,把开发旅游资源 ,发展旅游业放到重要位置 .在开发中 ,开发与保护应同时并举 ,注意可持续发展 .The tourism resources of Western China,including those of 12 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities,are very abundant.Their major characteristics are magnificent physical landscapes,pronounced native folk customs and precious historical cultural relics.The western provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities are faced with the new developing opportunity of China tourism industry in the 21st century.They should put tourism resources exploitation and tourism industry development in a prerequisite place as strategical development in Western China.Both development and protection are employed in tourism industry development,taking notice of sustainable development.
