摘　　要：县级图书馆是我国图书馆事业的基础。5省 10县图书馆的个案调查结果显示,我国内地部分县图书馆至今仍处在生死存亡的边缘,其社会形象正在消弭。改变这种现状,只有依靠国家公共事业的制度改革与创新,依靠图书馆界自身的图强。否则,重塑县级公共图书馆的公益形象将成为一句空话。The in dividual investigation into 10 county libraries in 5 provinces shows that part of inland county libraries are at the edge of life and death and their social images are vanishing.To change the current situation, what is key is the reform and innovation of public cause system and the libraries’ own efforts. Otherwise,it will be impossible to reshape the public service image of public libraries.
