摘　　要：介绍了20世纪末出现的一种新型的可直接并网的高压发电装备--能量变换器(Powerfomer)的基本原理、开发背景、目前现状、技术关键、设计特点和运行特点,并对其发展及应用前景进行了展望。A completely new class of generators which are able to deliver electric power at transmission line voltage level directly - Powerformer (POP) is introduced, and its fundamental principle, development background, key technology, benefit and the specialty of design and operation are also presented. Finally, the recent development and application of POP are discussed. POP is regarded as the most prospecting power conversion equipment by international specialists.
