摘　　要：以“规则取向”分析闽南语连读变调有规则形式以及规则缺乏心理真实性两方面的问题。本文主张“词素变体选择假设”,认为闽南语连读变调是一个词素的两个变体之间的选择,没有牵涉到运用规则的语音生成。本文一方面采用形式音系学的理论,扩充词汇音系学的机制,另一方面采用心理语言学的证据(如低能产性、保存结构)来支持这个假设。The rule-based approach to Southern Min tone sandhi has problems regarding both the formulation and the psychological reality of the putative rules. Our allomorph selection hypothesis claims that Southern Min tone sandhi is a process of selecting between the two allomorphs of a morpheme; this process does not involve tone generation by on-line rule application. The hypothesis is supported by arguments from formal phonological theory (lexical phonology in particular) as well as evidence from psycholinguistic studies (e.g. low productivity and structure preservation).
