摘　　要：本文在对李赋宁先生任总主编的新编《欧洲文学史》和杨周翰先生等主编的原《欧洲文学史》进行对照阅读的基础上 ,概括了新编《欧洲文学史》在体例的变化、内容的充实和调整、观念的更新等方面所显示的新特色 ,认为这部文学史是我国欧洲文学史研究领域的一项标志性成果 ,展示出 2 0世纪中国欧洲文学史研究的水平。文章还从精益求精的角度对新编《欧洲文学史》的进一步完善提出了若干建议。Based on a comparative study of the old European Literary History edited by Prof. Yang Zhouhan with the new edition of the book done by Prof. Li Funing, the paper offers a brief description of the characteristics of the latter, focusing on its stylistic innovation, its enrichment and adjustment of the content and its change of ideas. Treating it as a symbolic fruit of Chinese research on European Literary History, the author believes that the book represents the academic level of the 20th Century 's Chinese scholars in this field. The paper also suggests ways for further improvement.
