关于全面加强中国英语教育的思考

摘　　要：英语是被广泛使用的国际语言。中国融入国际社会 ,消除语言障碍和打破贸易壁垒同等重要。在经济全球化时代 ,有必要改进中国的英语教育。一、加强各阶段英语教学的衔接。二、大学英语教学的重点应放在口语和写作训练上面。三、采用新的教学手段 ,推进计算机网络辅助教学。四、逐步实施英语作为授课语言。五、重视英语专业的学科建设和发展。六、提高全民的英语意识 ,营造英语环境。随着我们国家综合国力增强 ,中国文化已迎来全面复兴。中国本土知识需要通过英语来实现其“全球化”意义。中国学者应能使用英语向世界讲述中国本土知识。英语语言障碍不克服 ,文化对话有可能成为自说自话 ,在世界多元文化格局中听不到来自中国的声音。English is widely used in the world, functioning as an international language. The removal of the language barrier is as important as dismantling of the trade barrier for China's integration into the international community. The globalization of China's economy calls for reform in the nation's English teaching program. English education covering the primary school, middle school and university should be implemented as a coordinated whole with a focus on each stage. At universities, bilingual instruction should be gradually introduced, and attention should be given to students' communicative abilities with emphasis on speaking and writing. The web-based computer technology provides learners with an environment in which English can be actually used for the purpose of communication. Efforts should be made to develop English as an academic discipline, and to facilitate the use of English in society. Since the global significance of the local knowledge is realized by means of English, Chinese scholars should be fluent in English to interpret and promote Chinese culture. Otherwise, cultural dialogue becomes monologue, and the voice from China is silenced in the multicultural world.
