Marxist Historical Epistemology and Its Theoretical Implication

摘　　要：In the development of epistemology in modern philosophy, there are four important elements that constitute the traditional epistemology. They are British empiricism, the continental rationalism launched by Descartes, Kant’s reflection on epistemology and Hegel’s conception of absolute idea. Nevertheless, traditional epistemology originating from reason is an abstract epistemology isolated from social life. Marxist historical epistemology starts from the practice of social life. It has revealed the social life’s fundament for cognition and the theoretical logic for scientific cognition of social and historical life. It is an important theoretical method for Marx to criticize and analyze the capitalist society and its ideology. Meanwhile, Marxist idea of historical epistemology provides an important theoretical premise for us to understand the modern shift of epistemology.In the development of epistemology in modern philosophy, there are four important elements that constitute the traditional epistemology.
