摘　　要：在西安于今年３月３１日至４月３日召开的第三届国际骨质疏松研讨会上，来自各国的骨矿研究领域的专家学者，进行了广泛的学术交流。主要交流的内容有：基础科学，包括分子生物学、骨细胞及矿物代谢的激素调节；骨质疏松动物实验，包括转基因或去基因小鼠、各种防治骨质疏松方法的临床前试验；骨质疏松流行病学调查；诊断方法，包括高分辨率 Ｃ Ｔ、显微 Ｃ Ｔ、磁共振成像等高级影像技术；以及骨质疏松的临床防治。此外。At the Third International Congress on Osteoporosis in Xi'an from March 31 to April3,1999, experts and scientists in the field of bone and m ineralresearch from allover the w orld presentedtheir data on basic research including m olecular biology and horm one regulations on bone cellular andm ineral m etabolism , on anim al m odels of osteoporosis including transgenic m ice and preclinicalstudiesof different approaches to preventing and treating various kinds of osteoporosis, on epidem iology of os teoporosis, on diagnosis including advanced im aging technology such as high resolution C T/m icro C Tand m agnetic resonance im aging, and on clinical prevention and treatm ent. Som e prom ising results of Chinese traditionalm edicine researches for prevention and treatm entin both preclinicaland clinicalstud ies w ere also presented. In this review article, presentations of the cutting edge research in these fieldsat the congress are sum m arized.
