摘　　要：80年代后期,各种面向对象数据库管理系统开始陆续进入市场,这标志着数据库系统进入了一个新的发展时期。无疑90年代,也将会是面向对象数据库系统(OODBS)走向成熟与提高的10年。本文介绍OODBS发展的渊源、开发策略以及一些典型OODBMS的特点、应用与性能,最后总结了我们的工作,并探讨了OODBS在未来的发展趋势。In the late of the 80s, some object-oriented database systems (OODBS) wasavailable in the market, this indicated a new era of database system. The paper, firstly, ana-lyses the background and the development strategies of OODBS, then summarizes thecharacteristics of several commercial OODBMS. The research in OODBS is also brieflydescribed and at the end of the paper is the perspective of OODBS.
