毛梾的木材材性及用途

摘　　要：研究琅琊山产毛的生长习性、解剖特征、物理力学性质、化学成份和用途。结果表明：毛木材材质优良，适于家具、纺织器材、造纸、工艺美术以及建筑等方面使用。The Chinese Catalpa is intolerant, but natural pruning does not take place readly,and bestresults are obtained in rather dense pure stands. This species has deep root system and is naturallyan inhabitant of bottom lands and hilly country. The tree grows best on moist,rich,loamy soils oron those of limestone origin,espscially old fields and similar cleared areas. The qualities of thistree have been studied,and the result indicates that the air-dry density is medium,shrinkage islarge,compression along the grain,static bending and shearing exhibit moderate. The toughness and reasonable duriabity of catalpa wood make it excellent for ship-building.It can also be used for furniture,work of art,constructive parts,material of decorative art andmusical instrument.
