摘　　要：第四纪期间，贡嘎山西坡至少发生过两次明显的冰川作用，一次发生在中更新世晚期，另一次发生在晚更新世。根据冰碛物的分布情况，其中后者又可区分出两次冰进。较早冰期时西坡的冰川以山谷冰川为主，冰舌可能下伸到海拔约３２２０ｍ的滕增沟沟口，雪线位置仅略高于４３００ｍ。较晚冰期时则以冰斗冰川为主，贡嘎沟冰川伸到海拔约３３５０ｍ的魏石达附近，莫溪沟两侧支沟中的冰川仅能下伸到各自的沟口，雪线位置可能在４６００ｍ。At least，two major phases of glaciation occurred on the west slope of the Mt．Gonggaduring Quaternary， one at the letter of Middle Pleistocene and another at the LatePleistocene. In the former glaciation episode the glaciers on the west slope of MT． Gonggawere dominated by valley type， ice tongues reached their maximum extent to the mouth ofTengzenggou Valley， 3 200 m a. s．l． and the elevation of snowline was a little higher than 4 300m a. s．l．， During the latter episode the glaciers were dominated by cirque glaciers．The GonggaGlacier moraines can be traced near Weishida，about 3 350 m a. s.l. In the branch valleys ofMoxigou Valley glaciers extented only to the mouth of each branch valley and the snowlinewas at 4 600 m a. s．l．probably．Also， the latter episode is divided into two glacier advancestages，in regard to the distribution of moraines.
