摘　　要：低轨道（ＬＥＯ）卫星通信系统是近几年兴起的用于全球个人通信的新系统，与ＧＥＯ（对地同步轨道）卫星相比，具有服务灵活、全球覆盖、传输时延短、频率复用等优点。本文将介绍ＬＥＯ系统的发展背景，构造及潜在应用。The low earth orbit satellite system is an emerging system for worldwide personal communication. Flexibility,true global coverage,shorter transmission delay and more effective frequency reuse thanGEO are key advantages of LEO systems,The paper addresses the background,status and some potentialapplications of LEO systems, The constellation configurations are also discussed.
