The efforts in developing continuous Cell line of marine animals have been made. UP to date about 22 cell lines of marine fish were established in the world. The obstacle for long term culture of marine invertebrates,especially for penaeus shrimp and shellfish has not been broken through. The progress of cell culture of marine animals in China and the potential application were surveyed briefly.
