摘　　要：本文通过分析读者和参考咨询人员各自的心理、生理特点及行为规律,探讨了各自对参考咨询环境的不同要求。并以此为基础,本着以读者为中心、兼顾参考咨询人员的原则,提出了一种理想参考咨询环境的基本模式。Reference environment is shared by hoth the users and the reference librarians. so the design of the ideal reference environment should consider both these two factors. By analysing the mental and physical characteristics and behavior patterns of users and librarians, their separate requirements for the reference environment are discussed to compromise their differences. The principle 'users first' is proposed and a model of the ideal reference environment is suggested.
