浅谈外国人对林则徐的认识

摘　　要：林则徐作为中国近代史上的重要历史人物之一,受到国内外广泛关注与研究。本文通过外籍人特别是曾任英国驻香港总督兼驻华公使包令对他的评价,再现了林则徐的人格魅力、历史地位、影响及其经世思想,同时也揭示了作为历史人物所存在的历史局限性,从而加深了我们对林则徐历史地位的认识。Lin Ze-xu, as an important historical figure in the modern history of China, has always been followed with interest and studied earnestly by great many people at home and abroad. This paper, through introducing the evaluation on Lin Ze-xu of foreign people, especially the former governer-general to Hong Kong and concurrently envoy to China, reproduces Lin's personality charm, historical status and influence on the later generations, and simultaneously analyses his historical limit as a historical figure, so as to deepen our cognition to Lin's historical status.
