This paper studies the origin and the evolvement of the four kinds of voiced syllable initials in the present Jin Dialect developing out of their ancient counterparts. We hold that the origin of the aspirate voiceless syllable initials is a north-western accent represented by Dacheng Zhongzong Jianjie of the Tang and the Five Dynasties and the origin of the un-aspirate voiceless syllable initials is another north-western accent represented by Kaimeng Yaoxun. The syllable initials which are same as those in Beijing Dialect, influenced by Qianzi Wen and Dacheng Zhongzong Jianjie, originate from the phonology represented by Huangji Jingshishu Shengyintu of Beisong Dynasty; and the syllable initials which are opposite from those in Beijing Dialect is possibly the mixture of the former two types.
