谭盾在回归——和李西安、梁茂春教授谈谭盾的多媒体景观音乐《地图》

摘　　要：《地图》推出后,在美国好评如潮。当谭盾在卡内基音乐厅指挥波士顿交响乐团(大提琴:马友友)演出《地图》后,卡内基音乐厅提出将谭盾的手稿悬挂在音乐厅内。这是到目前为止的第一位华人音乐家享此殊荣。《纽约时报》后来评价道:“谭盾为《地图》实地采风而做的录像达到了音乐人类学的高度,影片剪接凸显艺术感,却完全保存了音乐本身的纯粹。”由此可见西方对谭盾的认可度,一方面把手稿访到和柴科夫斯基、勋伯格等大师并列展出,另一方面把价值提到了音乐人类学的高度。其实,所谓音乐人类学就是民族音乐学,它的专业特点是注重田野考察,注重民间音乐的实地收集,谭盾早先到湘西采风,收集到乡土音乐的原始素材,并用到自己的创作中,受到西方的赞扬,这是我们容易理解的,我们民族民间音乐就是丰富且生动、纯朴又真挚、优美而动听。这也与音乐的发展潮流有关。过去东方学西方,现在西方对东方更有兴趣。对西方而言,东方文化博大精深、丰富多彩、神秘而富有吸引力。谭盾在《地图》中把这种民间原始的音乐元素和遍及世界的交响乐队,把听觉和视觉,把乡土田野上的歌唱和地球另一端的卡内基音乐厅、马友友,通过现代高科技跨越时间和空间地交融在一起的做法,在西方得到似乎比国内更多的关注和好评是可以理解的。When The Map came out,it received tremendous acclaim in the US.Following its debut at the Carnegie Hall by Boston Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the composer himself with Yo Yo Ma as soloist,the Carnegie Hall suggested to display Tan Dun's manuscript inside the hall.He became the first Chinese musician who has ever enjoyed such high reputation.The New York Times later commented,'the video recordings that Tan Dun made on his field work for The Map have reached the height of music anthropology,and the film editing was made with such artistry that it completely maintains the purity of the music itself.'From these words one sees the high recognition of Tan Dun in the West. In fact,the so-called music anthropology is ethnomusicology.It features field study and on-the-spot collection of folk music.Tan Dun previously visited the Western Hunan and gathered original elements from the local music,which he was to use for his composition.This was highly praised by the Westerners,and we could easily understand this as we have rich,lively,pure and beautiful traditional and folk music.This has something to do with the current trends in music development.In the past,the East learned from the West,but now the West gets more interested in the East.It is thus understandable that Tan Dun's practice in combining original folk music elements with symphony orchestra,combining the sense of hearing with that of seeing,and combining rustic singing with Carnegie Hall and Yo Yo Ma by means of modern hi-tech transcending over time and space,has obtained more attention and acclaim from the West than from his own country.But more importantly, in my view,such an attempt might predict in part the new orientation for the future development of music.
