摘　　要：It is common knowledge that China,with its 1.3 billion people, is the most populous country on the face of the earth. Fewer people, however, knowthat the number of senior citizens in China also ranks first in the world. An internationally accepted definition of anaging society is one where more than 10 percent of the population is aged over will increase to 11.8 percent of the population, with a peak graying population at around 2030. This peak is expected to last about two decades.
