摘 要:本文用液晶连续体弹性理论和4×4矩阵方法,通过色度学色差的计算,对STN液晶显示屏厚度的均匀性进行了理论分析,并对液晶盒的厚应对对比度的影响进行了讨论。The thickness of a LC cell of STN-LCD devices is one of important factors affecting itx display characteristics. In this paper, two aspacts of the influence of the thickness of a LC cell are discussed. One is the effect of flatness of LC cell, i. e. the difference of thickness between different areas in a LC cell affecting on its display color. The other is the product of birefringent index △n and thickness of LC cell on the contrast ratio. In the former, the chromaticity calculation is employed to get the chromatic abberration betweendifferent thickness. The results of chromatic aberration versus thickness difference is given out for different twist angle of LC cells. In the latter, the relation between contrast ratio and △n×d is showed, the optimum thickness can be derived from the result. In both one. the 4×4 matrix method is used to calculatethe propagation of light through a LC cell.
