摘 要:随着单模光纤应用技术的不断发展,偏振特性已经成为影响光纤应用的一个决 定性因素。单模保偏光纤可实现光束在光纤传输过程中偏振态保持不变,是目前应用极为广泛的 光纤类型。介绍了保偏光纤偏振传输的原理及消光比的定义,设计了一套测量单模保偏光纤消光 比的测量装置,并阐述了系统结构及关键技术问题的解决。最后用设计的系统对保偏光纤进行了 测试,得到了光纤的相对输出功率与偏转角度的关系,3 m长的保偏光纤的消光比达到了42 dB。With the development of fiber application technologies, the property of polarization has become a crucial factor to affect its application. PM fiber can conserve the polarization for propagating beam inside, which makes it the most widely applied fiber nowadays. The propagation theory and the definition of extinction ratio about PM fiber are presented, and a setup for measuring extinction ratio is designed. The system structure and the solution of key technical problems are also discussed in the paper. At last, a test of PM fiber is performed based on the designed system. A relation between related output power and rotation angle of fiber is obtained and the extinction ratio is 42dB for a 3m PM fiber.
