Bulk Polymerization of Styrene-Acrylonitrile-Maleic Anhydride in a Continuous-Flow Stirred Tank Reactor

摘  要:借助现有工业装置及苯乙烯-丙烯腈共聚物(SAN)和苯乙烯-顺酐共聚物(SMA)的生产经验,建立并实施了国内独有的苯乙烯-丙烯腈-顺酐三元共聚工艺,生产出苯乙烯系树脂新品种———苯乙烯-丙烯腈-顺酐共聚物(SAM)。以SAN和SMA工艺参数关系式为基础,建立了SAM工艺参数关系式,运用试差法计算了总转化率,结果符合聚合规律。试验表明,以两套配料系统向聚合釜供料的方案是可行的;通过调节两种物料的流量,产品的组成可变;在苯乙烯-丙烯腈共聚过程中引入顺酐后,聚合体系粘壁现象得到明显改善。In an existing plant with a continuous-flow stirred tank reactor for manufacturing styrene-acrylonitrile copolymers (SAN) and styrene-maleic anhydride copolymers (SMA), a unique bulk copolymerization process was successfully developed for producing styrene-acrylonitrile-maleic anhydride terpolymer (SAM). Based on copolymerization process parameters for SAN and SMA, the process parameter corelation for monitoring styrene-acrylonitrile-maleic anhydride copolymerization was established. Total conversions of SAM were calculated by trial and error method. Two different feed systems were feasible and reliable for manufacturing SAM, as well as SMA and SAN. The composition of products could be easily adjusted by changing ratio of two feed flows and monomer concentration. It was interesting to point out that the addition of maleic anhydride into bulk copolymerization restrained fouling of reactor and extended operating cycle of the plant.
