摘　　要：XMLSchema是XML的Schema语言,用来描述XML文档的合法结构、内容和约束。以科学数据库元数据标准建设为背景,介绍了XMLSchema及其在科学数据库元数据互操作中的应用情况,并展望了科学数据库元数据互操作研究的发展方向。XML Schemas express shared vocabularies and allow machines to carry out rules made by people. They provide a means for defining the structure, content and semantics of XML documents. The XML Schema and its implementation in the interoperation of Scientific Databases metadata standards are introduced. Finally, the prospect of the study in metadata intero￣peration of Scientific Databases is viewed.
