摘　　要：从弘扬公共图书馆精神到掀起21世纪新图书馆运动,这是中国图书馆学思想史上和中国图书馆事业建设与发展史上的一个意义深远的飞跃。开展21世纪新图书馆运动的历史意义,不仅仅在于中国的公共图书馆事业,也不仅仅在于中国信息化建设和社会发展的历史进程,更在于人类社会的信息文明建设。这是当代中国图书馆学家对图书馆事业、对中国、对世界和对人类文明的历史贡献。From expand the public library spirit to arrive to bring about the new library movement of 21st century, this is a meaning leap in the history of thought of the Chinese library science and the history of construction and development of the Chinese librarianship.The history meaning of the new library movement for 21st century,not only lies in Chinese librarianship,also not only lies in the history progress of information construction in China and social development,but also lies in the information civilization construction of mankind’s society,this is the historical contribution of the contemporary Chinese librarians for the librarianship, China, the world and the mankind civilization.
