This study was designed to observe the change of 5-HT?DA?5-HIAA?DOPAC in cortex and diencephalons and brain stem of the rat immediately after acute endurance exercise and its recovery in order to explore the influence of long-time swimming on monoamine neurotransmitters and its products of metabolism in the different brain region of the rat. Several results can be shown as the followings: 1) In acute endurance exercise, 5-HT-the possible transmitter of centered fatigue, its heighten of level appeared or first appeared in certain brain region probably, but no whole brain; its change was related to the factors of the duration of exercise and so on; 2)After three-hour swimming, it was found that the 5-HT concentration increased and the level of DA reduced remarkably on the diencephalons region of the rat. The results indicate that diencephalons region was likely to be sensitive region of central fatigue; 3)After acute endurance exercise, metabolize rate of 5-HT increased in cortex and brain stem of the rat, but the rat of metabolism rate of DA widespread increased in the whole brain after exercises, among them, the raise of DA concentration was most clear in diencephalons of the rat.
