摘　　要：中日甲午战争受到欧洲列强远东政策的支配。英俄矛盾是当时远东国际关系中最主要的矛盾。决定了远东国际关系的基本格局，对中日甲午战争的爆发、进程和结局都产生了深刻的影响。英国和俄国在调停中日矛盾过程中所采取的政策．体现着各自的国家利益。The Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 resulted from the clash between the Far East policiesof European big powers.The conflict between Great Britain and Russia, the major conflict in the Far East international relations at that time, determinedthe basic pattern of the international relations in the Far East,and exerted a deep influence on the outburst, process and final result of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895.On behalf of their own benefits,Great Britain and Russia adopted different policies when mediating the Sino-Japanese clash.
