GIS数据库与地图数据库关系辨析

摘　　要：系统地阐述了地图、地理信息系统、地图数据库、地理信息系统(GIS)数据库之间的相互联系,着重指出了地图数据库、GIS数据库之间的差别。针对人们对地图数据库与GIS数据库的模糊认识,以及我国不同阶段地理数据生产、地理数据库建设的途径、生产工艺的特点,指出了当前我国不少GIS数据的建设实际上还是地图数据库的建设,没有达到GIS数据库建设的要求。文章认为,以目前GIS的技术水平,同时建立与维护GIS数据库与地图数据库的必要性。地图数据库为社会提供各种比例尺的地图服务,GIS数据库为其应用提供各种时空尺度的地理信息服务。随着GIS技术及制图综合技术的发展,最终将以统一的GIS数据库同时提供多比例尺地图服务及各种时空尺度的地理信息服务。The mutual relationship among map & geography information system (GIS), map-database, and GIS-database are expatiated. Differences between map-database and GIS-database is emphasized. Aiming at misunderstanding both map-database and GIS-database, track of geography database making and building in different stages, and also the character of production process, the paper point out that now some of the GIS-database building is only same as map-database, not reaching the requirement of GIS-database building; author concludes that the co-existence of Map-Database and GIS-Database is necessary at the same time on the current GIS techniques level. The map-database will provide the map service of various scales for the society and GIS-Database will supply the different geography information service of various space-time dimensions for other applications. But with the development of the GIS and cartography technique, the service of various scale and various space-time dimensions will be provided by the unique GIS-Database eventually.
