摘　　要：介绍了一种全新的矢量图形语言SVG,分析了目前地图Web发布几种方法的优缺点,提出了基于SVG和JavaApplet的地图Web发布技术的应用体系和结构,并以湖北省鄂州市为例验证了该技术的可行性和优越性。This article introduces SVG (scaled vector graphics), a new vector graphic language, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of recent approaches to Web map publishing. After that it presents the application framework and structure of Web map publishing technology based on SVG and Java applet. Finally it proves the feasibility and superiority of the technology by taking the Ezhou city in Hubei province for example.
