摘　　要：The theory of historical materialism about the subject of society and history is the theoretical foundation of the scientific view of development. The unity of subjectivity and objectivity, axiology and epistemology, humanism and scientism, intentions and laws expressed in the view of scientific practice, are the theoretical bases upon which both the meaning of “seeing man as man” and of “scientific” in our view of development lay. The theory of historical materialism about social organism and social structure is the theoretical basis to realize the social development with harmoniously all-around in economics and environment. The theory of historical materialism about the double characteristics in the relationship between human and nature, such as the human and society’s dependence on and influence of nature, and about the generation’s effect in this same relationship, are the theoretical bases of sustainable development.The theory of historical materialism about the subject of society and history is the theoretical foundation of the scientific view of development.
