摘　　要：本文就近１５年来作者对广州地区糖尿病的患病率及其相关因素、诊断标准、致病性及其死亡原因、发病机理、胰岛β细胞功能与糖尿病分型、血管病变发病机理、饮食治疗、第２代磺脲类降糖药的临床应用与作用机理、病情监测等一系列研究作一扼要的综述，反映了作者对这些问题的了解和认识，提出见解，其中不少具有自己的特色，特别是在大血管病变和微血管病变发病机理，以及第２代磺脲类降糖药的临床应用与作用机理等方面。这些结果为今后对糖尿病防治的研究进一步打下基础，具有理论意义和实用价值。hispaperbrieflyreviewedaseriesofstudiesondiabetescarriedoutbytheauthorsinthelast15years.Thestudiescoveredawiderange,includingtheprevalenceofdiabetesinGuangzhouareaanditsrelatedfactors,thecriteriafordiagnosis,thepathogenicity,thecausesofdeath,thepathogeneticmechanisms,therelationsbetweenisletβcellfunctionandtypesofdiabetes,thepathogenesisofangiopathy,thedietarytreatment,theclinicalapplicationofthesecondgenerationsulfonylureashypoglycemicdrugsandtheirmechanism,andmonitoringthedisease,Inthisreview,theauthorssummarizedtheirunderstandingontheissuesstatedabove,andpresentedtheirdistinctiveopinions,mostofwhicharecharacteristicoftheirown,especiallythoseeconcerningthepathogenesisofmacroangiopathyandmicroangiopathy,andtheclinicalapplicationofthesecondgenerationsulfonylureasandtheirmechanism.Therefore,afoundationhasbeenbuiltforthefurtherstudyonpreventionandmanagementofdiabetes.Theresultsofthesestudieshavegreattheoreticalsignificanceandpracticalvalue.
