Com parison was made between the K calculated with the regressed equation and that determined from a similar heat exchanger under industrial operation.The difference was less than 9%.The equations can be used in heat exchanger design. Browder type and Lurgi type heat exchangers were compared experimentally.The results show that under the same flow rate, inlet and outlet temperatures of the fluid both heat exchangers have higher heat transfer coefficients than conventional ones and the values are of fairly equal, but the pressure drop in the Browder type heat exchanger is remarkably lower than that in the Lurgis.
