摘　　要：通过对临汾凹陷东部地表断裂构造的野外考察和分析研究，指出共轭断裂的活动孕育和产生了１６９５年临汾大地震，其中ＮＷ向断裂为发震断裂。由于大震后已经平静了３００年，认为今后临汾凹陷存在着发生Ⅷ度以上地震的可能性，这种危险性将来自ＮＮＥ向共轭断裂。Throug the field survey and analysis for the surface fracture tectonics in the east of Linfen depression,suggests that the 1695 Linfen macroquake had been prepared and generated by the motion of the conjugetefractures ,the NW fracture was triggering seismic fracture. The qulescence after the macroquake has persistedfor 300 years,but the probability of occurrence of the earthquake over Ⅷ degree will exist in Linfen depres-sion, the risk will result from NNE conjugate fractures.
