摘　　要：本文叙述了１６９５年临汾大震前的地震活动背景。分析了这次大震前的地震活动图象。指出１６～１７世纪是华北强震活动的全盛时期，而山西地震带的强震活动发生在这一时期的中后期，１６９５年临汾大地震是一系列７级以上强震中的最后一个，其孕育过程处在华北强震活动由“密集”转为“平静”的转折时期，认为１６４２年平陆６级地震是１６９５年临汾大地震的广义前震。The paper outlines the seismicity background before 1695 Linfen macroquake,analyzes the seismicitypattern before the macroquak,suggests that the 16th～17th century was a strong seismicity peak period inNorth China,the strong earthquakes of Shanxi seismic zone occurred at medium-later stage of the strongseismicity peak period, the 1695 Linfen macroquake was the last one of a series of earthquakes with M≥7.0,its preparation process occurred at the turning stage from the closed activity to the quiescence of the medium-strong earthquakes in the strong seismicity peak period in North China, takes the 1642 Pinglu earthquakewith M6 0 for the generalized foreshock of 1695 Linfen macroquake.
