摘　　要：本文以“拐弯抹角”与“沉默”为例,分析了中西方的文化差异,指出这些差异皆因不同的语境文化所致。不同的语境文化并无优劣之分,它们只是不同而已。顺利的跨文化交际有赖于交际双方的努力。This article analyses the cultural differences between the east and the west by taking ＂ beating about the bush＂ and ＂ being silent＂ as two examples. It points out that all the differences are caused by the different language contexts which are just different. Therefore, the smooth cross - cultural communication relies on the mutual - understanding of different cultures.
