摘　　要：文章用印欧语的研究成果来讨论历史语言学三个基本问题:1)如何确定语言的发生学关系;2)活语言比较与文献考证的关系;3)语言比较中的时间问题。In this article, the author discuss three general issues related to historical linguistics though various examples of Indo-European languages. There are： how to identify the genetic relatedness among languages; the relationship between living languages and the interpretation of written records; relative chronology in comparative reconstruction.
