摘　　要：概述了GIS的功能和特点,论述了GIS在EIA中应用的必要性和可能性,介绍了国内外GIS在环境影响评价应用的现状,重点讨论了GIS在环境影响评价领域的应用前景。This paper briefly summarizes the function and characteristics of the geographical information system （GIS）, discusses the necessity and possibility of the application of GIS in environmental impact assessment （EIA）, and introduces the current status of GIS in EIA at home and abroad, and emphatically discusses on the prospect of the application of GIS in the field of EIA.
