摘　　要：介绍MPEG-21多媒体框架标准制定的最新进展情况,对该标准已开发完毕和正在开发中的18个部分进行简单说明;归纳总结MPEG-21标准的总体框架结构,描述该标准18个部分间的相互关系;简要分析MPEG-21 DIDL 作为一种基于XML的复合数字对象打包标准规范在数字图书馆中的应用现状,并对MPEG-21标准在数字图书馆中的应用前景作一展望。This paper introduces the recent development of MPEG -21 Multimedia Framework Standard. Then it briefly describes the 18 parts of the MPEG -21 Standard. In addition, the architecture of the MPEG -21 Standard and the relationship of these 18 parts are also described in this paper. Finally, the application status of MPEG -21 DIDL used as an XML -packaging specification in the digital library is presented and analyzed, and the application prospect of the MPEG-21 Standard in digital libraries is described.
