泛希腊奥运会——一段被人们遗忘的历史

摘　　要：众所周知,顾拜旦于1896年在希腊雅典成功举办了第一届现代奥运会。但是,鲜为人知的是希腊人早在顾拜旦出生之前已经开始了复兴古代奥运会的行动,在希腊富翁扎帕斯的大力倡导和赞助下,希腊人在希腊雅典于1859年、1870年和1875年成功举办了希腊国家奥运会———现称泛希腊奥运会。由此,扎帕斯被一些历史学家称为现代奥运会的创始人。然而给人们留下了一个疑问,到底谁是奥林匹克的创始人,顾拜旦还是扎帕斯,第一届现代奥运会的举办时间应该是1859年还是1896年。扎帕斯死后将他的头部葬在了奥林匹亚,顾拜旦步扎帕斯后尘,死后也将他的心脏葬在了奥林匹亚。It is not well known that the Greeks themselves revived the Olympics before Coubertin was born. They held National Olympic Games in 1859, 1870 and 1875. Evanglis Zappas offered to fund the entire Olympic revival from his own overflowing pocket. Therefore Coubertion was hardly the first to claim the title “Founder of the modem Olympics”and the first modem Olympics was held in Athens in 1896, or Athens of 1859. After Zappas death, he lay his head in Olympia. Coubertin also had his heart severed from his body at death, and then shipped to Olympia, on a pillar at Olympia one can mad, Baron pierre Coubertin： Here rested the heart.
