摘　　要：企业规模与效率之间的两难冲突是一个古老的经济学谜团,新古典经济学和新制度经济学没有对此形成一致的理论解释,因此成为一个经验问题。DEA(主要是CCR模型)是对规模经济问题进行经验分析的有力方法。对中国保险企业的DEA分析结果表明,规模不经济的情况在中国保险业中更具有一般性,但在程度上会受到其他因素的影响。The trade-off between size and efficiency of the firm is an ancient puzzle in economics, with which many theories in neoclassic economics and new institutional economics are not consistent, and it thereby becomes an empirical issue. DEA （mainly CCR model） is a useful method for an empirical analysis of the economies of scale. The DEA analysis of the insurance firms in China shows that diseconomies of scale is the general case in Chinese insurance industry, but in the extent is affected by other factors.
