摘  要:通过较为完整地勾勒晚清义赈的兴起状况,可以看出义赈兴起的基本行动态势是从江南到华北,即江南社会自发动员起来并深入华北灾区开展社会救助,同时其行动意识则保持了对江南地方性的高度认同。这种行动态势和意识表达了一种“跨地方的地方性实践”逻辑,从而对通常地方史路径的空间观提出了挑战。那就是,要改变以往地方史研究缺乏整合的状况,一个重要着手点就是改变将地方空间作为孤立实体的做法,而应更加重视不同空间的互动关系。Through a relatively complete outline of the rise of charitable aid in the late Qing Dynasty, we can see that the dynamic of the rise of charitable aid was one that moved from the Lower Yangtze region up to North China. That is to say, Lower Yangtze society spontaneously mobilized itself and entered the disaster areas of North China to carry out social relief. At the same time, its consciousness maintained a strong identification with areas in the Lower Yangtze. Together this dynamic and consciousness express a logic of “local action crossing localities,” thereby posing a challenge to the usual sense of space in the practice of local history. That is to say, we need to change the lack of integration which local history studies have had up till now. One important starting point is to change the treatment of localities as isolated entities, and place more emphasis on the relationships between different spaces.
