摘　　要：TCM holds that senile dementia is in most cases due to weakness and deficiency of kidney-qi, which may result in insufficiency or hollowness of the sea of marrow, leading to atrophy of the brain tissues and hypofunction of the brain, hence the appearance of dementia.TCM holds that senile dementia is in most cases due to weakness and deficiency of kidney-qi, which may result in insufficiency or hollowness of the sea of marrow, leading to atrophy of the brain tissues and hypofunction of the brain, hence the appearance of dementia. The principle of TCM treatment should be tonifying the kidney, replenishing essence and enriching marrow to treat the fundamental aspect.
